Đầu tiên đem luộc chín trứng gà rồi ngâm vào nước đá ít phút, sau đó tiến hành bóc sạch vỏ trứng. Trái nhãn tươi mua về bóc vỏ, lấy cơm nhãn.

Đun sôi 700ml nước lọc cho 3-4 muỗng canh đường nâu vào khuấy đều cho tan đường. Tiếp đến cho trứng luộc. 2 lát gừng vào đun to lửa. Khi nước sôi trở lại thì cho nhãn nhục vào, đun tiếp 10-15 phút là được.
